The Czechoslovak Postage Stamp Library

Detailed images of every Czechoslovak and Czech Republic stamp (with the exception of the 1919 POŠTA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ overprints and the stamps of Bohemia & Moravia), almost every souvenir sheet, minisheet, and gutter, as well as examples of se-tenant, tete-beche, booklet, and coupon pieces can be found in this online library.

With more than 3000 stamps listed, imaged and cross referenced the editor Mark Wilson continues to grow the reference. The library is highly recommended and can be found here:

http://www.cpslib.org/index.html

The library is organised and can be searched as follows:

  • By Year, demonisation or format
  • By flaw, motif or alphabetical index
  • By catalogue reference number (Scott or Pofis)

The wealth of information and images provides for many hours of browsing as well as referencing for your collection.

Example image: 1950 (15 February) Tatra Cup (Scott: 401, Pofis: 533)

The editor also provides free downloadable album pages in pdf format that can be printed to make your own good quality album. Pages available are as follows:

  • General 1918-1939
  • Comprehensive 1920-1929
  • Comprehensive 1930-1939
  • Typographic Plate Production
  • Post War Czechoslovakia 1945-1954, 1955-1965, 1965-1969
  • Post War Czechoslovakia 1070-1974, 1975-1979, 1980-1985, 1986-1989
  • Post War Czechoslovakia 1990-1992, Blank Page
  • Czech Republic Stamps & Souvenir Sheets 1993-2016
  • Czech Republic Minisheets 1993-2016

The editor recommends the following guidance when creating your own album:

  • Print on one side of acid free 110 lb ivory stock
  • Mount the stamps using clear mounts
  • Insert two pages, back to back, into an archival quality page holder
  • Place holders in a ring album that is large enough to protect the edges of each page.
  • Do not overfill the binders
